Otto John (Sebastian Blomberg), who as head of the Bundesverfassungsschutz seeks out war criminals in hiding, becomes aware of Toni. ![]() "Bonn - Old Friends, New Enemies" (script: Clauda Garde, Martin Rehbock, Peter Futter) immerses the viewer in the old Federal Republic of 1954: In Bonn, the capital of Germany at the time, 20-year-old Toni Schmidt (Mercedes Müller) becomes a foreign language secretary at the Gehlen organization, the ancestor of today's Bundesnachrichtendienst (Federal Intelligence Service), after a language study trip to London. In addition to many members of the cast and crew, director Claudia Garde and actors Mercedes Müller, Jürgen Maurer and Sebastian Blomberg and Max Riemelt were also on hand. At the 32nd Film Festival Cologne, the ARD mini-series "Bonn - Alte Freunde, neue Feinde" (Bonn - Old Friends, New Enemies) celebrated its premiere in the "Special Screenings" section on October 22, 2022.
